Flyers, also known as handbills, because they are so inexpensive to manufacture and easy to deliver, are one of the most common print marketing items. They are generally smooth, rectangular and about the size of an adult palm, making them ideal for handing on to street passersby. Flyers, though, vary from thin 2 ” x 3.5 ” papers to large square flyers of all sizes and styles. However, what they have in common is that they are normally double-sided in order to provide more detail.
Brochures, also known as pamphlets, because they are not flat, but folded, can be very easily distinguished from flyers and leaflets. When you can get more imaginative about the concept, this third dimension makes them stand out a little more. Brochures can be used in several different shapes and types in terms of their format, from a double folded 11 ” x 8.5 ” style to a single folded square paper. However, what needs to be remembered is that they are neither stapled nor bundled.
